Si le web peut potentiellement offrir de nouvelles possibilit\u00e9s d&#8217;apprentissage, il pr\u00e9sente \u00e9galement plusieurs d\u00e9fis. Lire et apprendre sur le Web exige un ensemble de comp\u00e9tences avanc\u00e9es en mati\u00e8re de lecture et d&#8217;\u00e9criture que les adolescents ne poss\u00e8dent pas n\u00e9cessairement et qu&#8217;ils doivent d\u00e9velopper pour faire face efficacement \u00e0 la complexit\u00e9 des informations rencontr\u00e9es en ligne. Ce num\u00e9ro sp\u00e9cial rassemble cinq articles empiriques et un document de discussion qui examinent les facteurs internes et externes qui sont b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques (ou nuisibles) \u00e0 la lecture et \u00e0 l&#8217;apprentissage des adolescents sur le Web, et qui contribuent \u00e0 expliquer comment les jeunes apprenants d\u00e9veloppent des comp\u00e9tences complexes en mati\u00e8re de lecture et d&#8217;\u00e9criture. Th\u00e9oriquement, le num\u00e9ro sp\u00e9cial contribue \u00e0 la conceptualisation de ce que les chercheurs appellent la &#8220;ma\u00eetrise des documents multiples&#8221;.
